Deltans to Get M.O.R.E. From Oborevwori Onyeme.
God needed a state in Nigeria that would provide the desired leadership among the states in Nigeria.
So, He inspired General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, the one we call IBB, to create Delta State on August 27, 1991.
What is happening in Nigeria, today shows that God did not make a mistake in creating Delta State.
Interestingly, Delta State has been playing the leadership role that God created it to play, especially in the areas of politics, business, education, sports, and entertainment.
Politically speaking, Delta State is one of the few states in Nigeria where political differences are settled without the shedding of blood and loss of lives.
A good example was the incident that took place between Olorogun David Edevbie and Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori.
Following their political differences, they invited the courts to intervene, and the courts did their work and the matter was settled amicably.
What a beautiful and peaceful way for two brothers to settle their differences without shedding blood or causing the loss of lives!
No wonder it is always said that ‘Delta no dey carry last,’ which translates to ‘Deltans and Delta State always excel in whatever they set out to do.’
Being satisfied and pleased with Delta State, God went to work again in 1999 and gave it a gentleman called Chief James Onanefe Ibori as its governor.
The ‘Odidigborigbo of Africa’ as Chief Ibori is fondly called everywhere he goes in Delta State, brought Deltans together and united them under one big family, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, that has the largest umbrella to cover its members.
After his eight years of meritorious service to the people of Delta State, Chief Ibori gave way to his successor, Dr, Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan.

Dr. Uduaghan, who continued with the good works that Chief Ibori started did his best and handed over the baton of office to Senator (Dr.) Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa.
Senator Ifeanyi Okowa became the governor of Delta State in 2015 when the world was experiencing an economic meltdown.
That meant that he had very few resources to implement his good plans for the people of Delta State.
This caused him to weep.
But as a prayerful governor who was blessed with prayerful followers or subjects, he prayed that god should bless the finances of the state and God honoured his prayer.
To God be the glory, Governor Okowa went to work with the available resources and did what Caesar could not do, especially in the areas of infrastructural facilities development, education, healthcare delivery, sports, entertainment, and government workers’ welfare, among others.
Only the wicked and people of reprobate minds can claim not to have seen or benefitted, in one way or the other, from the good works of Governor Okowa, the one who says what he will do and does what he says.
As Governor Okowa is getting set to move on to a higher pedestal, God, in His infinite wisdom, has again provided somebody who would take over from Governor Okowa and continue to goodworkthat is currently being done by Governor Okowa.
The name of that gentleman is Rt. Hon Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, a man of likeable and pure character.
Rt. Hon. Oborevwori will be ably assisted by Sir Monday Onyeme, a financial professional of note.
Knowing that Deltans are destined for more dividends of democracy, Rt. Hon. Oborevwori has promised not to do anything short of that when he becomes the governor of Delta State in 2023.
So, be Sheriffied, and expect M.O.R.E.

M– Meaningful Development across the three senatorial districts; North, Central and South on an equal basis;
O – Opportunities for all Deltans devoid of the tribe or ethnic colouration in all aspects of the state’s endeavours;
R – Realistic Reforms that will facilitate rapid socioeconomic transformation and lastly;
E – Enhanced Peace and Security across the state to promote tourism, and attract local and foreign direct investments in the course of advancing Delta.
