Governor Oborevwori of Delta State Swears in SSG, SPOLAD, Restates His Commitment to the Unity of Delta State.  

Dr. Kingsley Emu, and Senator Emmanuel Aguariavwodo were sworn in today as the Delta State Secretary to the State Government, SSG, and the Senior Political Adviser (SPOLAD) respectively in Asaba, by the governor of the state, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Orhowedor Oborevwori.

During the colourful swearing-in ceremony, Governor Oborevwori emphasized his unwavering commitment to the unity of the State.

He also made a strong assurance to the people of Delta State that his administration would operate without favoritism or bias in managing government affairs.

The Governor congratulated the newly appointed officials, Dr. Kingsley Emu and Senator Emmanuel Aguariavwodo on their well-deserved positions and urged them to align with his administration’s M.O.R.E. agenda.

This agenda is centred on significant progress in infrastructure development, human capital growth, and social investment programs.

Governor Oborevwori stressed the importance of avoiding ethnic politics and sectionalism among political appointees in his administration.

Instead, he urged them to consider the entire state as their constituency and treat all Deltans fairly and impartially.

He made it clear that his administration would not tolerate sectionalism or nepotism, as he strongly believed in the unity of Delta State.

He stated, “Both of you must always work towards unity by ensuring fairness, equity, and justice in all your actions and statements.”

Furthermore, the Governor highlighted his administration’s commitment to building upon the achievements of the previous government and making significant strides in infrastructure renewal, human capital development, and social investment programs.

He expressed confidence in Dr. Emu’s ability to effectively integrate the MORE agenda into the operations of various government departments, given his extensive experience in government.

Governor Oborevwori advised Dr. Emu to maintain accessibility to all, handle challenges with patience and resourcefulness, and uphold discipline, firmness, and decorum in his new role as SSG.

He assured the people of Delta State that his administration would remain faithful to the MORE agenda, and appointments would be made based on merit and capability.

He stated, “The appointments in this administration will be based on merit and capacity, and they will comprise a mix of youth and experience.”

In response, Dr. Emu expressed his gratitude to Governor Oborevwori for the opportunity to serve and pledged loyalty to the administration’s MORE agenda, which is dedicated to advancing Delta State.

The swearing-in ceremony was attended by several prominent figures, including the current Deputy Governor, Sir Monday Onyeme, former Governor Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, former Deputy Governor Chief Benjamin Elue, and Senator James Manager, among others.
